To generate the spirit of enterprise amongst the students,a five day Annual Entrepreneurship Summit was held at LPU.Trade Fair was a part of summit in which more than 30 innovative ideas were showcased,Also there was an inspiring session by the Chief Guest Mr. Mahesh Munjal,MD,Majestic Auto Ltd a Flagship company under Hero Group .The event was celebrated on a massive scale with a host of activities to enable the students having a realistic brush with the concept of entrepreneurship. Nearly 500 students and many distinguished entrepreneurs participated in the summit and the students took part in the events like Entrepreneurship based quiz, Role Model Research, Trade Fair and Business Plan Presentation.
Trade fair organized in the summit showcased innovative participation where students had to register themselves for presenting entrepreneurial ideas like on line games shop in Malls,home delivery cake service by students,book galleries etc. Students erected the stalls pertaining to business of their choice and the team with the most innovative and efficient business operation was adjudged the winner. Among all,a huge rush was found at the stall featuring the most innovative idea of formulating & modification of professional CV through a website based platform.
Mr. Mahesh Munjal addressed the crowd in the concluding ceremony that the tendency to have a visible enthusiasm towards Entrepreneurship has been at the heart of economic development of leading world powers of the day. No society has leaped into the bracket of prosperity, without resorting to enterprise. India has been fortunate as it is consider to be land of entrepreneurs and now also becoming the land of opportunities. He urged the new generation to cherish the dreams in their heart and move in the direction to realize them. He said that work should be considered as passion and not just responsibility.
Mrs. Rashmi Mittal, Executive Dean-LPU shared the vision of LPU in promoting entrepreneurship amongst the students of the University and said that LPU students are plush with innovative business ideas, and University is committed to extend full support from its side to realize their ideas.For this,the University has an exclusive department of Entrepreneurship that encourages students to start business ventures of their own.The students who have ideas with them and want direction to create success stories from them are guided thoroughly.University has a provision of partly funding the projects, conceptualized by students and employees of the University.
The summit ended with a joint resolve by the management, students and Deptt. of Entrepreneurship Development to hold a the next version of Udhyam in a larger scale and to ensure that more and more students are motivated in creating jobs through their private enterprise, rather than hunting for them.
